SKI RACK
Lockable Ski & Snowboard Rack for Your Roof Crossbars. You're standing next to your car with the box open. Here's everything you need.
Before You Start
Which size you have, which kit to use and what the roof can carry. Check these before you open the hardware bag.
25" rack: up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards. 35" rack: up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. Both come as a pair of carriers, one for each crossbar.
Every box holds both kits. Erkul crossbars (Skybar, AeroGlide, Wizard, Strong and Falcon) have a T-track channel on top: use the T-bolts. Round, square or aero bars without a channel: use the clamp-on kit. The rack mounts on crossbars only, never on a bare roof or directly on roof rails.
Everything on the roof counts: crossbars, rack and gear together. Always stay under the lowest of three ratings: your crossbars (165 lb while driving on Skybar and Falcon, 220 lb on Wizard, AeroGlide and Strong), your roof rails if fitted, and your vehicle's roof load limit.
Mount both carriers the same way round, so both slides pull out on the side you load from. The curb side is the safest. Load skis with the tips facing the rear of the car.
Watch the Install
Pick the video for your crossbars. Erkul crossbars use the T-track install.
Installation Guide
Every step, right here on your phone. Tap a section to open it.
Slide pushed fully in, lock pressed down on the skis, both covers closed and both carriers locked with the key. Take the key with you.
Grab each carrier and shake it firmly before every drive. If anything moves, do not drive: re-tighten and test again. Repeat after the first few miles.
2 ski carriers, the T-track kit (T-bolts, base pads, lever caps), the clamp-on kit (clamp brackets, bottom plates, bolts and screws), a T-handle hex key and the keys. Every box holds both kits: you use one of them.
T-track install: 6 steps (tap to open)+
1. Slide two T-bolts into the channel on top of the front crossbar: square head inside the channel, thread pointing up. Space them to match the two holes in the bottom of the carrier.
2. Slide a base pad over each T-bolt so it sits flat on the crossbar.
3. Lower the carrier onto the crossbar so both T-bolts pass through the holes in its base.
4. Press the button on the end cap to open the cover, release the plastic lock on the slide and pull the slide out. The T-bolts are now reachable inside the carrier.
5. Thread a lever cap onto each T-bolt and tighten it by hand, then fold the lever flat so the slide can pass over it. Push and pull the carrier: it must not slide or rock.
6. Install the second carrier on the rear crossbar the same way, lined up with the first. Push both slides back in.
Clamp-on install (no T-track): 6 steps (tap to open)+
1. If the soft pad is not already on the bottom plate, peel off its backing and stick it on, padded side up (against the crossbar).
2. Build each clamp: join a clamp bracket and a base pad with a long hex bolt, smooth side of the pad facing up. Build 2 clamps per carrier.
3. Open the cover with the button and pull the slide out. Push each clamp bolt up through a hole in the bottom of the carrier, thread on a lever cap, tighten it by hand and fold it flat. Push the slide back in.
4. Set the carrier on the crossbar with the brackets straddling the bar. Fit a bottom plate under the bar, pad up, with two clamp screws at each end. Snug only, not fully tight yet.
5. Tighten the screws at each end in turn, in small steps, until all are fully tight. Never take one end fully tight before the other. The carrier must not slide, twist or rock.
6. Mount the second carrier on the rear crossbar the same way, lined up with the first.
Load & lock: 5 steps (tap to open)+
1. Unlock the carrier with the key, press the button to open the cover, release the slide lock and pull the slide out past the edge of the roof. Do the same on the second carrier.
2. Lay the skis across both carriers with the tips facing the rear of the car. Spread the pairs evenly along the jaws.
3. Push the slide all the way back in, then push the lock down onto the skis so they cannot shift.
4. Close the covers of both carriers. Check that no strap, binding or pole is pinched outside the rubber jaws.
5. Lock both carriers with the key, remove the key and keep it with you.

FAQ
How many skis or snowboards does it carry?+
The 25" rack carries up to 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards. The 35" rack carries up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. Wide skis and boards with tall bindings take more room.
T-track or clamp-on: which install do I use?+
If your crossbars have a channel on top (every Erkul crossbar does), use the T-track install. If they have no channel, use the clamp-on install. Both kits are in every box.
Will it fit crossbars from other brands?+
Most of them. Bars with a T-track channel take the T-bolts; if the T-bolt head does not slide into the channel freely, use the clamp-on kit. Round, square or aero bars without a channel take the clamp-on kit. Not sure? Text us a photo of your crossbars.
The slide will not move+
The slide has a plastic lock. Open the cover with the button, release the slide lock, then pull the slide out. Push the slide fully back in before you close the cover.
Can I go through an automatic car wash?+
No. Remove the rack before an automatic car wash.
A part is missing or damaged+
Do not return the rack. Send a photo of the box and the part to support@erkulautousa.com or text 1-609-245-6424, and we ship a free replacement. Lost a key? Replacement keys, T-bolts, pads, lever caps and clamp sets are available from support.
