165 lbs (75 kg) dynamic load. Your roof rails and your vehicle's roof have their own rated limits (see your owner's manual): always stay under the lowest of these ratings.
Maximum speed with a load on the bars: 80 mph (130 km/h). Slow down in crosswinds.
Tighten the 4 mounting bolts firm and even: max 4 to 5 Nm (about 3 to 3.7 ft-lb). Never use a power tool.
Shake every bar before each drive. Any movement means stop, re-seat, and re-tighten.
Bow & stern tie-downs to the vehicle frame are required. Straps to the crossbars alone aren't enough.
2 crossbars (one longer, for the front), 4 mounts (2 R + 2 L), 4 lock covers, 2 keys, a 4 mm and a 5 mm L-shaped allen key, 4 M6 x 55 bolts and 4 washers.
Install: 7 steps, warehouse-checked (tap to open)+
1. Lay everything out: 2 crossbars (A, one longer than the other), 4 mounts (B: 2 marked R, 2 marked L), 4 lock covers (C), 4 M6 x 55 bolts with 4 washers (F), a 4 mm and a 5 mm L-shaped allen key, and 2 keys.
2. On the ground, slide each bar end into a mount: R mounts on one end, L mounts on the other, so each bar has one R and one L. Tighten the screw that holds the bar in the mount with the 4 mm allen key.
3. On the car, find the 2 fixed points on top of each roof rail: a small cover sits flush in the rail. Flip each cover open. The threaded mounting point is underneath.
4. The longer bar goes at the front. Lift it onto the roof with the R mount on the passenger side and the L mount on the driver side, and set each mount over its fixed point. Put a washer on each M6 bolt and drop it through the mount into the fixed point. Turn it in by hand first.
5. Tighten the bolts with the 5 mm allen key a little at a time, left and right in turn, until the mount sits firm and flat on the rail. Do not over-tighten: max 4 to 5 Nm (about 3 to 3.7 ft-lb), and never use a power tool. Fit the shorter bar at the rear the same way.
6. Press a lock cover (C) onto each mount, turn the key to lock, and take the key out.
7. Shake test: grab each bar at both ends and shake it hard. Nothing may move. Re-tighten after the first 30 miles (50 km) and before every long trip.

FAQ
Does it fit my Audi Q7?+
Skybar V3 fits the Audi Q7 2017 to 2026 (second generation) with flush roof rails that have fixed points under small covers on top of the rail. It does not fit raised roof rails or a bare roof. For a 2007 to 2015 Q7, see the Skybar V2 hub.
Where are the fixed points?+
On top of each roof rail there are 2 small covers that sit flush with the rail. Flip a cover open and you will see the threaded mounting point. Each mount bolts into one of these 4 points: no drilling, no clamps.
Which bar goes at the front?+
The two bars are different lengths: the longer bar goes at the front, the shorter one at the rear. Mounts marked R go on the passenger side, L on the driver side.
What's the maximum weight capacity?+
Up to 165 lbs (75 kg) evenly distributed. Your roof rails and your vehicle's roof have their own rated limits (see your owner's manual): never exceed the lowest of these ratings.
How fast can I drive with the bars on?+
Up to 80 mph (130 km/h) with a load on the bars. Slow down in crosswinds and with tall or wide loads.
Can I go through an automatic car wash?+
No. Remove the crossbars before any automatic car wash. After you refit them, do the shake test again before you load anything.
Why is there wind noise when driving?+
Some noise is normal when bars are unloaded; that's airflow over the aerodynamic profile. If excessive, check alignment and re-tighten. A wind fairing reduces it further.
Are the crossbars lockable?+
Yes. Each mount has a locking mechanism. Insert the key into the lock cover (C), push the cover onto the mount, and turn the key to lock.
Can I use the crossbars with a sunroof?+
Yes. The crossbars are compatible with sunroofs and panoramic roofs, but do not open your sunroof while the crossbars are loaded.
